What do people say about my work?
I am passionate about bringing the issues I write about into schools in an age appropriate and understandable way.
“There is an increasing need to give children as many opportunities as possible to better understand their place in the world alongside the rich diversity of other people. Tim's resources provide an engaging way into some of the challenging topics of poverty, disability and diversity, supporting teachers and parents in helping children see that our differences add richness, depth and value.”
Dr Graham Gault – Director of the National Association of Headteachers in Northern Ireland
“Tim Bailie has visited Moyle Primary School and Nursery Unit on a number of occasions working with all ages of children. From the Nursery pupils through to the P7s Tim not only had his excellent books to read but he made them come alive with his delivery and the extra touches he added to his story telling, with suitable adjustments for each age range. From the youngest child to the oldest the stories came alive and were memorable. Each story has a message with strong PDMU links. We highly recommend Tim to your school and your pupils, you will not be disappointed.”
Gareth Hamilton – Principal, Moyle Primary School
“Tim is a regular visitor to Groggan Primary School, He writes stories that tackle subjects which can often be difficult to discuss with children and he does this beautifully. The ‘Six Legged Spider’ teaches the children that difference doesn’t matter, and can often be a gift. The Mouse and the Moon Rocket is a lovely story all about a hungry mouse trying to feed his family. Tim’s beautifully illustrated books are loved by our pupils and his visits are a highlight in our school calendar. He engages the children with his stories and gets them excited about reading and writing.”
Cathy Humphrey - Principal, Groggan Primary School
"Tim Bailie is an author who has the talent to be able to conjure up stories that not only capture the reader's imagination and attention, but also arouses their curiosity. We always look forward to having Tim visit our school."
Mr Raymond O'Toole - P3 Teacher, Corran Integrated Primary School
